Accessibility Statement
This website is built so that someone using a screen reader, screen magnification or only a keyboard can read about decks and reach Deck Builders Lewiston as easily as anyone else. We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA and check pages against it each time they change.
If the estimate quiz, a town map or any page gives you trouble, email [email protected] or call, and we will work on a fix. A phone call can also do everything the forms do, from describing the deck to setting up a visit.
Effective October 23, 2026. Last updated October 23, 2026.
Everyone planning a new deck, a replacement or a repair deserves a website they can read, and forms they can fill in, with no struggle. This statement covers the guidelines we follow, the features already in place, the places the site still falls short and how to tell us about a problem.
Our Commitment
Accessibility is part of how each page here is written and built, from the first draft through every later change. When we find a barrier, or a visitor points one out, we record it and work through it.
The Standard We Work Toward
Our target is Level AA of the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. We do not claim full conformance, because no review catches every barrier, but those guidelines shape our choices of layout, color and code.
What We Have Built In
- Page headings in a clean top-down order, and link text that names where each link leads
- A written description on every meaningful photo, a label you can see on each contact-form field, and estimate-quiz photo cards that behave like ordinary checkboxes
- Color pairs checked against the Level AA contrast ratios, a consent window that opens and closes from the keyboard, and motion that switches off when your device asks for reduced motion
Known Limitations
The interactive town maps are hard to use with a screen reader or a keyboard alone. Every town pinned on a map also appears as a plain text link on the same page, so skipping the map costs you nothing.
Any Google map shown on our contact page carries Google's own accessibility features and its own gaps. The contact page also lists our phone number and office address as plain text, and our email address appears on this page.
How to Report a Problem
Tell us which page caused trouble and what you were trying to do there. Write to [email protected] or phone the number at the bottom of every page, and we will track down the cause and work on a fix.
Other Ways to Reach Us
When a form will not cooperate, a phone call gets a deck estimate started just as well. Give us the town, the kind of deck job and how high the deck sits, and we can set up the visit during that call.
Updates to This Statement
We review this statement again whenever the website changes in a meaningful way. The dated version at the top is the one in effect.
