Privacy Policy
The estimate quiz and contact form prepare an email on your device. We receive those details only when you send that email through your email app. Our office uses requests to call you back, look at the yard and prepare a written price, and may add them to our customer-management system.
The consent box records permission to contact you about your request, and replying STOP ends the texts. The site carries no analytics, no ad pixels and no tracking cookies, and an email to [email protected] lets you see, correct or delete what we hold about you.

Here is what becomes of the name, number and deck details you send Deck Builders Lewiston through this website. The sections below cover what we collect, what we use it for, which outside services see it and how to ask us about it.
Who We Are
Deck Builders Lewiston builds, replaces and repairs decks and deck railings for homes in Lewiston, Auburn and 21 nearby towns in Maine. We work from an office on Main Street in downtown Lewiston, and this website is deckbuilderslewiston.com.
Information We Collect
The estimate quiz and contact form ask for the details below and prepare an email on your device. Preparing a draft does not send it to us.
We receive the details only when you press Send in your email app. We do not save unfinished answers in browser storage.
- Contact details: your full name, phone number and email address.
- About the deck: the town it is in; whether you want a new deck, a replacement or a repair; your answers about the decking, the size, the height, the stairs and railing, the age of an old deck or what needs fixing; when you would like the work to start; the budget you set on the slider; and anything you write in a message.
- About the submission: whether you ticked the consent box, which page the form sat on and when the email draft was prepared.
What we learn on a call or during the visit to your yard goes into that same record. If you hire us, the record also holds the written price, the signed contract and the invoices.
Our web host also keeps an ordinary log of page requests, as web hosts do. Each entry holds an IP address, the type of browser and the page that was asked for.
How We Use Your Information
We use your details for three things, and nothing else:
- answering your request and setting up a visit to look at the yard, the house wall and any old deck
- pricing the deck, and, once you hire us, building it and sending the invoices
- keeping in touch about the project by phone, text or email, as you agreed on the form
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. It is never used for marketing unrelated to the deck you asked us about.
Who Else Handles Your Information
These services handle information when you visit the site, call us or send an email request.
- Our customer-management system holds call records and project details our team adds while handling your request.
- Our phone system carries our calls and texts, and notes taken during a call are added to your record.
- Email providers send your message from your email app and deliver and store the office copy.
- Our web host, Cloudflare, delivers these pages to your browser, keeps the request log described above and forwards email sent to our address on to our inbox.
The town maps on our pages load their map tiles from OpenStreetMap, which means that service sees your IP address. If our contact page shows a map or a directions link from Google Maps, Google's own privacy policy covers that map.
We may hand over information when a subpoena, a court order or another legal duty requires it. We may also share it to protect someone's safety or our own legal rights.
The Consent Box on Our Forms
Every lead form on this site has one consent box, unticked to start, and the form will not prepare the email draft until you tick it. You still need to send the draft from your email app.
Beside the quiz's box is a short line whose link opens the full submission authorization, and the contact form prints the full text next to its box.
Ticking it lets Deck Builders Lewiston, along with our team members and assistants, reach you by email, text message or phone to confirm your request and the details you gave, even if your number is on a Do-Not-Call registry. The permission also covers follow-up about your request, including calls and texts sent with automated technology, and giving it is never a condition of buying anything from us.
If you look through parts of our website about builders, contractors, real estate agents or home service providers, the same permission reaches them as well. If you would prefer not to give consent online, phone the number at the bottom of any page and we will handle your request on that call.
Text Messages and Calls
We text only about your estimate request or your deck job, for example to set the visit or to update you while the deck is being built. Message and data rates may apply, and the number of texts depends on the project.
- Reply STOP at any time to end our texts, and a single message confirms you are unsubscribed.
- Reply HELP for help, or write to [email protected].
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party.
To stop our calls, tell us during any call or send us an email. Either way, we take your number off our call list.
Calls Answered by Our AI Receptionist
Calls to our number may be answered first by an AI receptionist, which tells you near the start of the call that it is an AI. It records your name, your number and what you describe about the deck, and a short summary of the call is saved to your record in our customer-management system.
Cookies and Analytics
There are no analytics tools, advertising pixels or tracking cookies on this website. Our pages keep nothing in your browser's storage, and the forms work fine with cookies switched off.
A map service shown on our pages can set cookies of its own under its own policy, as noted above. You can block or clear cookies at any time in your browser.
How Long We Keep Information
We hold on to a request for as long as we are answering it and following up about the deck. If you become a customer, your records may be kept longer where a contract, tax rules or another law calls for it.
How We Protect Your Information
Access to your details is limited to the services listed above and to the people on our side who need them to handle your deck project. No system connected to the internet is perfectly safe, and we will not pretend otherwise.
If a breach ever exposes your personal information, we will notify you as Maine's breach notice law requires.
Your Choices and Requests
You can ask us for:
- a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- a correction of anything that is wrong or out of date
- deletion of your information, other than what a signed contract or the law requires us to keep
Email [email protected] or call the number on our contact page to make a request. We may ask a question or two first to confirm that the request is yours.
Children's Privacy
Nothing on this site is aimed at children; it is written for adults planning a deck. If we learn that someone under 18 sent us information, we delete it.
Links to Other Websites
Some pages link to public sources such as town code offices, the Maine statute on home construction contracts, Maine's shoreland zoning program and the American Wood Council's deck guide. Those sites follow privacy policies of their own, and this policy does not apply to them.
Changes to This Policy
This policy changes when the way we handle information changes, or when the law does. Check the date at the top to see which version applies.
